Four easy steps to improving your oxygen levels

Fight off illness the easy, natural way

I’ve had great success in fighting of illness and just “feeling” better through oxygenating my body naturally. That’s because oxygen is a healer. It’s a primary source of energy and helps fuel the entire metabolism process and helps with detoxification (from the ordinary toxins that just result in living to the extraordinary toxins that are part of modern life). Inversely, oxygen-deprivation of cells is considered one of the primary causes of cancer.

1. Drink baking soda.

One of the cheapest and easiest ways to oxygenate your body is with baking soda. I’ve been using this easy recipe for the last bit and it’s been very effective. It basically amounts to 1/4 – 1/2 tsp of baking soda, equal amount of salt, and warm water. (Remember always to use the highest quality ingredients especially when using food as medicine.) Here’s the recipe.

2. Make your diet more alkaline.

The best way to do this is to dramatically increase the amount of organic, leafy greens in your diets: kale, collard greens, Swiss chard, seaweed, and I often take a high-quality chlorella supplement. One way to get the most out of your leafy greens is to drink apple cider vinegar. There is even evidence that taking apple cider vinegar can prevent or reverse Type 2 diabetes.  Don’t get carried away with it though. Try one to two tsps a day mixed with warm water before meals or in the morning.

3. Open your windows.

Outdoor air tends to be less polluted than indoor air and is richer in oxygen.

4. Take a hike in the woods

Getting into the woods or nature to move your body provides the benefit of both a highly oxygenated environment and the lung promoting effects of gentle exercise, not to mention being in nature has all sorts of other benefits on one’s health and wellbeing. At least bring houseplants into your home as they can both filter your indoor air and oxygenate it.

As with all of the Green Mama’s great advice, it’s not meant to replace your own common sense! In other words, I’m not advising  you to just drink apple cider vinegar or baking soda when you are having a heart attack or clearly about to keel over from some awful disease. I am encouraging you to feel empowered to change your own health for the better. Enjoy!
