Carolina Green Fair

It is the goal of the Charleston Green Fair to continue to provide a platform for local businesses to reach the local residents and create sustainable business throughout the year in an affordable and meaningful way. With support of over 20 non-profit organizations, the Green Fair provides a platform for them to share their message with a large segment of the local community. Our non-profit partners have participated in our event every year and continue to grow with us. Mayor Riley and the City of Charleston have continued to sponsor and support the Green Fair by providing both venues and cash donations, along with endorsements of our events.

Charleston Moves!

Charleston Moves is a non-profit organization promoting bicycling, walking, running and public transportation for a healthy community and a healthy lifestyle.

The Charleston Moves vision for communities throughout the greater Charleston area is to make our community more livable and vibrant by promoting and advocating the following:
– Development of an enduring built environment that promotes physical activity and healthy communities.
– Provide safe environments for walking, bicycling and livability.
– Advancement of projects and policies that promote equity and are economically, racially, and culturally inclusive of the diversity present within our community. Positions on major community issues related to transportation, public transportation, land use, walking, and bicycling issues/projects.

According to the USDA, an estimated 35.5 million people, including 12.6 million children, were food insecure in 2006. That means they had difficulty getting enough food due to a lack of resources. Fields to Families has set out to change that, and we’re focusing on our local community. Founded in 2006, Fields to Families is a nonprofit organization located in Charleston, South Carolina, that helps the hungry in our community gain access to nutritious fruits and vegetables.
