– Soft and well made
– Canadian parent-run company
Many commercially made toys utilize synthetic materials in their creation. All of these textiles, plastics and fillers can exacerbate conditions like asthma, allergies, and skin issues. By using recycled wool, a natural material, we are keeping our kids and their toys closer to nature.
Cate and Levi’s lines of stuffed toys, puppets and clothing are all handmade in their studios in Toronto. This small-scale approach means that each item is impeccably crafted and well made. I love that each article is totally unique, no two will ever be the same, much like all of our special and unique kiddos.
Cate and Levi is committed to creating a company that future generations can be proud of. They are currently donating a portion of their proceeds to various children’s funds.
Cate and Levi sources materials locally in the Greater Toronto Area. This helps reduce shipping and cut down on their carbon foot print. They also choose to use reclaimed textiles to further reduce their environmental impact by limiting the depend for new materials.
Josh Title, owner and founder, has the goal to “produce long-lasting items that can be today’s plaything and tomorrow’s keepsake”. By saving recycled materials that are often destined for landfills and turning them into well made toys with longevity Cate and Levi is doing a great job of reducing waste.
At $25 for a hand-made one-of-a-kind keepsake puppet, Cate and Levi’s products are at an accessible price point for families.
